STATEMENT

Dibujar y pintar es parte de mi escencia. Lápices, fibras y acrílico mis herramientas siempre en formato bidimensional. Los temas que me apasionan... retratos y naturaleza, el feminismo y el cambio climático.

Disfuto mezclar técnicas y generar conceptos.

“Muerte negra” es un proyecto en proceso que tiene como protagonista la fauna marina argentina y el peligro inminente que la acecha ante el avance de las petroleras sobre nuestro mar.

Elijo como modelo pescados (y digo pescados porque son peces muertos) y otros elementos de la fauna marina, enteros o en partes, por dentro y por fuera, prácticamente reducidos a esquemas y gráficos 2D. Esto lo plasmo en una paleta reducida al blanco y negro con técnica mixta dibujos recortados y pegados, trazos de pincel con acrílico negro y carbonilla, sobre lienzo y sobre papel. Partes de un todo marcados por la muerte y oscuridad que amenazan.

“Black Death” is an ongoing project centering on Argentine marine wildlife and the imminent danger it faces from the encroachment of oil companies into our waters.

I choose fish (and I say *pescados*—meaning dead fish—specifically) and other elements of marine life as my subjects—whether whole or in parts, inside and out—reducing them essentially to 2D diagrams and graphic forms. I render these using a palette limited to black and white, employing a mixed-media approach that combines cut-and-paste drawing techniques with black acrylic brushstrokes and charcoal on both canvas and paper. They are fragments of a whole, marked by the looming threat of death and darkness.
